Kirk Distributors proud of giving to Jamaica

JAMAICA’S public sector, and the country in general, benefit from a number of initiatives implemented by Kirk Distributors Ltd.

Among the projects are Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures Schools Programme and Johnson’s Baby Community Initiative, which the distributing company says gives it great pride and pleasure.

The Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures Schools Programme — a partnership with the ministries of health and education — utilises a mobile dental clinic to provide dental health education and dental health treatment for Jamaican children at the primary level.

“Services include cleaning, filling, extractions and general oral examinations,” the company explained.

Under the programme, children also receive advice on proper brushing and cleaning techniques, after which they are provided with Colgate toothpaste and toothbrushes and literature for both children and parents to practise what they were taught.

The Colgate Mobile Dental Clinic is currently providing treatment in the parish of St Catherine.

The second initiative is a partnership between Johnson’s Baby products and Missionaries of the Poor’s Bethlehem Home in downtown Kingston.

Johnson’s Massage Gel and other products from the Johnson’s Baby range are used by the volunteers to assist the children who are physically challenged.

“In December, we organise a special treat for the brothers, children and volunteers,” the company said. “Meals, ice cream, walkers, strollers and wheelchairs are top priority gifts for this celebration.”

“Kirk Distributors are proud and pleased to extend these long-standing initiatives and eagerly look forward to continue helping to uplift communities,” the company said.
